Leather, Lumpy Grey Things, and.... Nazis?

First off, the other day I found this leather tag on the ground. :) The metal clasp thing is cool... I might use it to attach something later. I figure this fell off of a backpack or a coat or something.

This is..... a lumpy grey cloth. I wasn't sure what part of the body this piece of clothing has recently touched, how smelly or dirty that body might be, and etc. .... so I didn't touch it. Ew. I found it on the floor of my dorm right next to the door I was about to walk out of... But there you have it.

This was possibly the most interesting find of my day. Haha. In our library, we apparently have an 8-volume set of Kipling's writings.... with Nazi symbols on them. XD!!! I haven't a clue why Nazis were publishing works in English... o.O It had no publication date on the inside (although many of the pages have even more of these Nazi symbols decoratively displayed) so it could be that these weren't published by Nazis, but were published before the symbol got its bad connotations... but I doubt it. The symbol is too boldly displayed for it to just be decorative...

Until next time. ^_^

Also from the bird day...

I forgot one!!

Dinner on the bird day... I went to our food area to study, and discovered this hoodie! It's my size, and I really like it... it's soft! It also smells STRONGLY of laundry detergent. But anyway! I folded it up and left it on the table for someone to come back and find. At midnight, I came back and it was still there, neatly folded, right where I left it. I asked my friend who's a janitor there what they do with clothes they find, and he said they just throw them into lost and found, but if it's been there all day and no one has come back to claim it, he said he wouldn't tell anyone if I took it.

...

So I did. :D I have a new hoodie!!!

A bird-themed day!

Yesterday, I exited my dorm to go to class, as I do every morning... however! On this particular day, there was a cd in the window!! I was late to class, so I didn't stop to take a picture. The cover said "Choral 2009" on it and some other stuff. After several classes, I came back to my dorm and discovered that the cd was STILL THERE. So I took a picture. :) Later, when I came back, it was gone. (Music totally has to do with birds. Birds sing!)

Later, many hours later, as I exited my dorm, I discovered an unnaturally bright turquoise feather on the ground! It is truly unnaturally turquoise... no real, organic, God-made bird is this colour, hahaha. I think it was a part of someone's costume for our "Harvest Fest" Dance-but-not that we have every year.

This find I cannot take credit for... someone else found it. But I thought it was worth mentioning. This poor cardinal had a broken leg, and two girls from my class found him and placed him in a box. They told us their plan was to take it to the biology professors and see if they knew how to save him. If they didn't, they were going to take it to a vet. Aww! Yay for bird love!

This last one has absolutely nothing to do with birds, but I was so excited that I found so many things in one day, I decided to include this. I found a bottle cap on the floor! And it had a coke rewards point on the inside that wasn't used (until now dun dun dunn) ... The end!

(I found something today but I'm going to save it for tomorrow, because I want to avoid massive posts... I want to have a bunch of little posts!!)

Tons of stuff! Haha!

First off... let me apologize for the like two-week hiatus, haha! I was having difficulty with the transference of photos from a camera and cell phone to my computer. :P So yes. I have a million and a half things (not really) to update you that I have found recently!!!

First off, I found these roses. There were originally three, but one of them was molded (ew!) so I threw it away. When I originally found these roses, it was through a very long trail of rose petals, strewn all over the sidewalk and front lawn leading up to my dorm. In the middle of the front lawn (sort of thing) were three roses, like so:

I picked them up and took them with me to give to my friend Alaina, haha. And, of course, to share with you!! :D Apparently someone in my dorm... her grandmother owns a flower shop that was going out of business, so she took all of the leftover flowers and was handing them out to people in our dorm... and apparently throwing them around the front lawn.

On another occasion, I was sitting with my boyfriend (Chris) in an empty classroom, waiting for something, I don't remember. And against the wall was a thin wooden pole, painted silver except for the very base of it. So I took it. And poked people with it. And used it as a cane... whee! :P

The boy in the 2nd picture is Chris, haha. While walking around campus at night, we discovered this orange spontaneously placed upon a concrete post. It was placed too perfectly to have happened by accident, so we didn't take the orange with us, in case it was a part of a scavenger hunt or something. Still - random.

Equally random: One day me, Chris, and two friends (Michael and Becca - married couple we've been hanging around a lot) went to Cheddar's for dinner. The car we parked next to had a TREE in it. O_O

While waiting for Chris to come out of his dorm... HOLY CRAP ALL OF THESE STORIES INVOLVE CHRIS... I found this adorable green pushpin sitting on the ground. :P It is now sitting on my bulletin board.

I found this notebook in the food court area of my school... I, of course, snooped through it. It belongs to someone who is an education major and also a music major... they are from the Dominican Republic. And I'm pretty sure (from the handwriting) that it's a guy. I left the notebook where it was, since it had tons of class notes in it, just in case the person was gonna come back and find it... but it has been there for like 3 days and no one has come to claim it, haha! Below are some pages from the inside:

So yes! These are all of the little things I've found recently.... I also found ANOTHER necklace, but somebody wanted it back before I could get the picture taken. It was long, with purple, black, and clear beads. At least it didn't smell weird this time! hahaha. ;)

How much your friendship means to me...

Today I only found one thing.... haha.

This was sitting on the mat in front of the door leading into the student union. Yay! Apparently someone's friendship doesn't mean as much to someone as they once thought it did.........

A night downtown, a day on campus...

Hello! I haven't slept since 10 pm Saturday night. My sleep schedule is all manner of screwed up.

In other news... I find stuff on the ground constantly. Today/yesterday (since the last time I slept..) the universe has gifted me four different times. :) I was thus inspired to make a blog cataloging the awesome things that I spontaneously discover on my tiny adventures throughout the world!

Today's hall is as follows:

The first big find of the day was actually not found by myself. It was found by my friend Alaina, who discovered it at around 7 in the morning in the parking garage downtown. At like 1 am there were tons of cops outside of the coffee shop we were in, and there was a massive herd of clubbers (if these women had been wearing two napkins stapled together their clothing would have covered more surface area)... some of them were yelling at the cops, some starting fights... a bunch got arrested. It was really exciting!! But anyway... this all happened close to the parking garage, and afterwards many of them fled to the parking garage. So I think that this fell off one of the clubbers. It smells STRONGLY of woman's perfume. Haha. I'm pretty sure the pearls are fake. And the clasp must've been somewhere else, because it's obviously no longer attached. So yes! Moving on to our next item...

Later that day, around, say, 9 am. I was headed to the fine arts building to play my flute (I randomly felt like playing again. Odd. Moving on.) and I found a wallet on the ground! I picked it up, found out the guy's name who it belonged to, contacted him and returned it to him. :D So, yes... the picture is not of the ACTUAL wallet... but is instead of my boyfriend (Chris)'s wallet. :)

Later, after I was bored playing music and Chris showed up and we decided to go upstairs in the fine arts building to watch the new episode of Big Bang Theory (eeee!!! ... although saaaad... I didn't like it. It was depressing and I wanted to cuddle Sheldon, and then the ending was abrupt and random and not believable), we discovered THIS lovely graphite stick waiting for us on the table in front of the extraordinarily comfy couch which we were about to sit on. There was a pencil there, too, but I have less interest in pencils. No one came by looking for it in the like 4-ish hours we were there, so... :) It's mine!! I love art supplies. I don't even care if I don't know how to use them.

Generally, pennies and coins really wouldn't make the list of things that I found. However, I was bringing my found objects to meet Chris' camera with the express purpose of placing them on the internet in blog form, and there was a penny on the table in which I was about to begin this. Aww! It makes the cut just for being at the right place, at the right time. :)

So yes! ^_^ I shall update... whenever I find stuff. Yaaay!
